About Me
My name is Robert Ogden. Currently, I am preaching with the West Mobile Church of Christ in Mobile, AL. I have been here since January of 2008. The road that got me here has been quite curvy. In the last ten years, I have lived in Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, and New Mexico. I never thought I’d end up living in Alabama, but here I am.
As far as education is concerned, I graduated in Spring of 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Literature from Florida College in Temple Terrace, FL. I would love to pursue a graduate degree, but for the time being finances have conspired to keep that in the “dream” category.
About Under the Oak
When I was young, I always had a place I could go to be alone and think. Maybe it was out in the woods somewhere or some quiet corner of a neighborhood. Its not that it was a “secret place” per se, but in my mind it was “my place”. I haven’t had that for years, and I find myself longing for such a place now that I’m older – somewhere where I can think, pray, meditate, or just be at my ease. As I think about what the perfect place would be, I think back to growing up in middle Tennessee where the ground was often scattered with moss covered rocks and where one might find a majestic oak tree standing firm in the midst of a forest or out in a field somewhere. That would be my place – under the oak tree.
